AutoAngel (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates https://getautoangel.com (the “Service”). This page tells you about our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

We use your information to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you choose to link WhatsApp), and authentication identifiers from third-party providers (e.g. Google sign-in).

Vehicle and maintenance data

We store the vehicles you add and the maintenance logs, reminders, and documents you create. This includes make, model, year, mileage, service records, costs, photos, and any notes you provide.

AI assistant conversations

Messages you send to the AI assistant, in-app or over WhatsApp, are stored so the assistant can remember context across sessions and so you can review your history. Conversations may be forwarded to third-party AI providers (see below) strictly to generate the response you requested.

Usage and device data

We collect basic technical information such as browser type, IP address, pages visited, and timestamps. This is used for security, debugging, and to improve the Service.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full credit-card numbers on our servers. Stripe handles payment data under its own Privacy Policy.

How we use your information

To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
To generate AI responses, maintenance suggestions, and reminders specific to your vehicles.
To send you reminders and notifications via email, push, or WhatsApp (only when you’ve linked your phone number).
To process payments and manage subscriptions.
To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse of the Service.
To comply with legal obligations.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers we need to operate the Service:

Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, and hosting.
AI providers (Google, OpenAI, Anthropic) — your message and minimal context are sent so the assistant can respond. Providers process this data under their own policies and do not use it to train their models when accessed through their business APIs.
Meta (WhatsApp Business) and Twilio — to deliver WhatsApp messages to the phone number you provided.
Stripe — to process payments and subscriptions.
ElevenLabs — to generate text-to-speech audio for the assistant’s “listen” feature, if you use it.
Email delivery providers — to send transactional emails.
Law enforcement or legal authorities — when required by valid legal process.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings, after which we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it (for example, billing records).

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Delete your account and associated personal data.
Export your data in a portable format.
Opt out of non-essential marketing communications at any time.
Withdraw consent for WhatsApp messaging (by unlinking).

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest for stored data, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

International transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards where required.

Cookies

We use first-party cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure usage. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may stop working correctly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
